The
Sony BVW 300-400 I
have had a number of faults on this but two spring to mind crackle on audio
and loss of audio, also white balance both faults are down to caps as usual.Please
dont forget to check white balance on vector scope after replacements.
DSRPD170 No
faults listed for this one and a very nice camcorder to work on.
Sony DSR-200p and the DSR-250p
the same camera apart from the XLR and phono inputs also not many problems
that I have had with this item apart from audio faults,and deck error
codes.
The
JVC GR-D20EK Shame about the failure of the CCD in the JVC GR-D
ranges such as the GR-D20, 30, and 60 models to date symptoms comes
up in EVF (view finder) and on LCD display as (remove lens cap)
The
Sony VX1000 not to many faults to report apart from loss of
main eye EVF intermitant caused by flexi ribbon,and loss of
key function and luma led key operation also caused by a ribbon
cable.
DSR-PD150 another
good seller for Sony same as the domestic VX2000 shame numbers of them
suffered with faulty CCD devices causing loss of picture or red all over
image in LCD display fair play to Sony thoe they are carrying out repairs
to these items even thoe they are out of warranty problems occur with
domestic one chip cameras as well.Strange how it is but I had never heard
of so many problems with CCD chips pixel loss yes but this no.

AG455 This
Full size VHS camcorder was just one of Panasonics best sellers to name
but a few.It was of course the same as the Panasonic NV-MS4 but just
a different colour case.Shame about the multiconnector that cracks off
from the mother board pcb when it receives a sharp bang or crack the
give away for the fault is no picture in evf apart from the four 0000.

The
Sony DSR-25P nice unit same deck as above but I have had a big problem with
this unit,fault is powers up then powers down.I am very sorry to say it is the
main processor on the main board dont think of doing it yourself unless your
mad.
HVR-M15
common internal deck to most have had only one recorded fault on this and it
was int shutting down and caution indicator lite.Remedy replace dew sensor on
main deck it goes far over sensitive.
Sony
DSR 450WSP very nice camera, the only recorded problem I have for this is
gain drift and going unstable with an all over red gain, caused I found from
the main CCD preamp board yes it is very sensitive hence CCD preamp.
The
Samsung VP-W90 camcorder reliable and cheap the only problems I have had with
Samsungs are the main cam lever being bent due to misuse and the main can
screen shorting on mother board creating intermit operation or dead due to
blowing the fuse.
The
Sony RM95 controller for the setup on most if not all Sony camcorders enters
into the lanc input if you have not got one forget working on them! changes
the page data and address information.
The
Sony CCDtrv65E nice and reliable camcorder apart from the usual loss of operations
on function panel caused by the main deck operation mech flat FPribbon breaking
thus loss of controls.This happens on a number of models.
The
Panasonic NV-DS60 camcorder nice camera but sufferes with intermitant faults
such as reel lock (one or two error flashes of led then power off) however
dont worry it's just the reel rotation pulses missing because of the ribbon
going high resistance.
The
Sony Z1, have had intermitant internal fuse protector blow on main internal
supply board for no reason causing total loss of unit (dead), but guys do me
and yourself a favour dont get your fingers inside because it is buried amongst
loads of boards.Also a very noisy lens assy from main zoom operation function
remedy replace complete lens assy and total setup.
